A Welcome Message from the Publisher
Together, we can make a difference in our youth sports culture.
Welcome to Better Young Athletes, the weekly newsletter dedicated to helping kids thrive and succeed in a healthy sports culture.
The desire to win at all costs, ignore safety standards, and push success on our kids has created an environment that can be both damaging and discouraging. No wonder so many kids are quitting sports before reaching their teens.
Fortunately, more coaches, parents and educators are realizing it doesn’t have to be this way. Is it OK to want success? Sure. Can you develop individual sports skills and leadership qualities and still win as a team? Absolutely. I’ve talked with dozens of coaches and parents who are doing both with great success.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll receive each Wednesday in your inbox:
The hottest stories and issues facing youth sports.
Tips to ensure a healthy, safer sports environment for kids.
The players and coaches making an impact on and off the field.
Advice on choosing sports gear, plus innovations and product reviews.
How to keep kids physically active, and make it fun.
Adaptive Sports - Children with disabilities and special needs should be given the opportunity to play sports, too.
Better Young Athletes aims to change the way we look at youth sports. After all, it’s about the kids.
